Madelyn Zarina Nazari


Madelyn Zarina Nazari is a Taos based soprano, pianist, composer & teacher.
Her classical music education began at age 8 with piano. In 2004, she trained
under a renowned maestro in Denver, Colorado. Focusing on the traditional
Italian Bel Canto style of singing. Her operatic repertoire consists mainly of
Puccini and Verdi. As an opera singer, some of the roles she performed were
Mimi in La Boheme, Aida in Aida, and Turandot. She has performed in operas,
operettas, in choruses, and as a concert soloist in opera houses, auditoriums,
and various other venues. Madelyn sings in English, Hebrew, Yiddish, Farsi,
Arabic, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Latin & Aramaic.

In addition to performing, She teaches classical voice and piano, encouraging
her students to express themselves in a positive and unique way, combining
the secret breathing techniques of opera masters, with her formal training in
educational kinesiology and neural linguistics programming, to help women
release stress, and become psychologically and physically healthier. Piano
composition is also encouraged and many students have made various
recordings under her guidance.

Madelyn Zarina's first solo album Kol Rina was released on March 10, 2011.
The album consists of a variety of Jewish songs, mostly sacred, sung in a classical
style, in Hebrew and Aramaic.

Zarina recently began working on her next album. It will consist of piano 
compositions she composed while spending time in Taos. It will be
released in early 2012.
